by WIA with heart: handmade bags – from a website builder to own servers

In nine days from a closed website builder to a dedicated, documented infrastructure – with no downtime in live operation. Andrea Wieshofer's brand is live at bywiawithheart.com.

  • Domain, DNS, shop and four role-based mailboxes under our own control
  • 21 products in 9 categories, local fonts, cookieless measurement
  • Go-live with staging, TLS check and email authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC)
Project in detail

Starting point

The website and online shop ran in a rented website builder. That worked as long as the operation was small, but became a dependency as soon as domain, content, mailboxes and measurement were to be under our own control.

Task

Not a pure move, but a controlled migration across multiple layers: domain and DNS, website and shop, email mailboxes, measurement and access management. The brand was to remain recognizable – warm, handmade, personal – and work just as well on the phone as on desktop.

Approach

Domain transfer and DNS zone were moved into the same account as server and mail system; A, MX, SPF, DKIM and DMARC records were prepared and checked individually. The new website was created as a WordPress installation with WooCommerce and its own design system, product data and photos were migrated, and the structure was aligned with the customers' decision-making sequence.

Result

WordPress with WooCommerce, HTTPS with Let’s Encrypt certificate, www redirect, four mailboxes with verified mail authentication and cookieless analytics without a consent banner. Domain, content, mailboxes and analytics now reside in the own Hetzner account. The website is live at bywiawithheart.com.

Duration

The migration took from the decision on 22.10.2026 to the domain transfer on 31.10.2026 – nine days including staging and go-live check.

Technical: Hetzner Cloud, Coolify, WordPress with WooCommerce, MariaDB, Traefik with Let's Encrypt, custom block theme, local fonts, cookieless analytics.

General practitioner's practice in Vienna: new website with a custom design system

All practice information on six pages, a custom design system and not a single request to external servers.

  • Content, images and color palette adopted, structure reorganized
  • Contact form with 16 services, callback request and backend storage
  • Measured on mobile: LCP 284–516 ms, CLS 0, around 15 requests per page
Project in detail

Starting point

The previous practice website had grown over years; the content was at different stages, and individual details contradicted each other. Logo, photos and color palette were available and were to remain recognizable.

Task

A new website with its own design system: all practice information on six pages, a contact form with service selection and callback request, new legal pages – and operation on own infrastructure without requests to external servers.

Approach

At the start was the source analysis of all legacy content (17.10.2026); the original colors were measured and adopted as design tokens. This resulted in a custom WordPress block theme with locally hosted fonts, running on Coolify via a repeatable Docker Compose configuration. Content, menu, and users are created idempotently on every deploy.

Result

All six pages are live with HTTP 200 and Let’s Encrypt TLS; fonts and images are stored locally, maps are only available as a link. Inquiries are stored in the backend; email sending depends on the practice’s SMTP credentials.

Duration

From the content analysis on 17.10.2026 to acceptance on 02.11.2026 – around two and a half weeks; on 04.11.2026 a round of technical hardening followed.

Technical: WordPress with custom block theme, MariaDB, Docker Compose on Coolify, locally hosted fonts, contact form without third-party providers.
